NON MEDICAL PRESCRIBING PROTECTED LEARNING EVENT

8TH MARCH 2023

You are invited to the 3rd NMP PLI on March 8th 2-5pm at the OEC, Sheffield (Registration from 1.30pm)

Attending this PLI will fulfil 3 hours of CPD updates for NMP. This is open to all NMP / IP in Sheffield (including ACP's / GPN's / Pharmacists and PA's). Cover through OOH is available for surgeries to close for the afternoon. 

Our Key Note Speaker will be Reem El-Sharkawi (Academic Pharmacist and author of Expanding your prescribing scope of practice, RPS) who will be taking us through how to expand our prescribing practice safely and competently. 

This will be followed by a choice of breakout room: 

 EITHER

 Contraception - from teen to menopause - which contraception is best in each age group, looking at using contraception in its licensed and unlicensed form and bringing in the learning disability perspective. 

OR

Opioids  - prescribing and deprescribing opioids. What else is available to support our patients with chronic pain and how to have these conversations, including the learning disabilities perspective. 

Before finishing with a look again at the topical antibiotic stewardship and tools available to audit your antibiotic prescribing.

As always, it will be a resource rich event, and opportunity to network and add to your clinical skills within prescribing.
